New Conductor Appointment

The Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band is delighted to announce the appointment of Gavin Brown as its new conductor. A seasoned brass musician and respected educator, Gavin brings with him a wealth of experience and an infectious passion for brass music, which has already inspired musicians and audiences across the region.

Gavin’s appointment marks a new chapter for Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band, as they prepare to take on fresh challenges under his leadership. Commenting on the appointment, Gavin expressed his excitement to reconnect with his brass band roots: “I’m thrilled to join Huddersfield and Ripponden and really looking forward to working with the band. Together, we aim to build on the band’s proud legacy while also exploring new musical avenues.”

The Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band is set to perform its first concert under Gavin’s direction on 10 December 2024 at our annual joint concert with the fabulous Roberttown Pop Choir.
