About Us

The Huddersfield Youth Brass Ensemble Association (HYBEA) was formed as an independent charity in 1990.

The Huddersfield Youth Brass Ensemble however, has been in existence since 1962 representing the Youth Brass players of Huddersfield all over Europe, Scandinavia and North America on its regular educational tours.

We are always seeking new talent, so please feel free to come and see us at our concerts or visit us in our band room.

Tuition is provided by the Association and we are able to offer loan instruments where necessary.

Instrumental lessons are provided on a one-to-one basis, with each pupil receiving a weekly 20 minute lesson. Our instrumental tutor is Alan Jazwinski BA (Hons), Senior band Soprano Cornet and also M.D. of the Youth Band.

If you are interested, or require further information, please visit the contact page and complete the form or contact us via social media.

The Association has evolved over the years to the point where it now provides a complete and continuous educational service for all ages through its training, youth and senior bands:-

Fundraising

The bands are self funding and currently carry no sponsorship. Fund raising and grant applications are constantly underway in a bid to replace the ageing instruments and uniforms of the bands.

Please support us by entering our monthly draw. For more details, please ask a member of the band or use our contact form.
