Yorkshire Regional Brass Band Championships

8 March 2020 9.30am – 12.00pm

Huddersfield Town Hall, Corporation Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2TA

The 2020 Regional Brass Band Championships for Yorkshire are once again to be held in Huddersfield. With its impressive concert hall holding up to 1200 people, the Huddersfield Town Hall seems a most worthy venue for some of the finest bands in Britain to gather together in competition.

Among the fifty or so bands competing over the weekend is our very own (and the town’s namesake band) Huddersfield and Ripponden. Playing Andrew Baker’s 3rd section test piece, Endurance the band will take to the stage during the morning of Sunday 8th March and under the baton of its accomplished Musical Director, Adam Bell, the band is rehearsing tirelessly in an unflagging pursuit of a quality performance on the day. The third Section adjudicators for this year will be David Hirst and Steve Pritchard-Jones.

Tickets are on sale from Monday, 13th January 2020 from the Box Office: 01484 225755 or online www.kirklees.gov.uk.

If you find yourself unable to attend the Regional Championships this year, you can hear Huddersfield & Ripponden playing Endurance at Hammond Saltaire’s pre-area preview night on Saturday 29th February at St Paul’s Church, 7 newgate, Mirfield. Event starts at 7pm.
