Yorkshire Area 2017

On Saturday 4th March 2017, after weeks of rehearsals, Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band saved their best performance for the contest stage and triumphed in their home town. A superb performance clinched 1st place, and qualification for the finals, for the first time in 20 years.

                “What a bold and musically purposeful reading that was. The conductor made sure every player gave everything and they certainly did that and more.“

                “There was a lovely flow to the music, each musical line flowing with freedom and enjoyment from behind the stands of the players (and plenty of smiles too from percussion).”

Our brilliant conductor won the best MD trophy, very apt as the Steve Platton award is in memory of our old conductor, and Adam has certainly earned it.
