Huddersfield Training Band
We have launched a new Training Band!
Allie Brennan, who is leading the group, is thrilled to be involved with it:
“The first week we had 8 very happy new players. We even managed 8 bars of Mary Had a Little Lamb! I am so glad to see it start and now I can help encourage the next set of brass players.”
Our Chairperson, Annalea Staples stressed the importance of inspiring the next generation:
“We have had a successful Youth Band for the more experienced young players since the organisation was formed in 1962 but numbers have dwindled in recent years so a beginner’s band is an important step forward to continue the organisation’s aims and to create the next cohort of brass band players.”
Players have the opportunity to progress through its training, youth and senior bands as they become more experienced. If you know of any potential brass players or any youngsters wanting to get involved bring them along to a rehearsal, every Wednesday 6.30pm – 7.30pm underneath Golcar Conservative Club.
